Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related engineering field (depending on project type).
- Must be a licensed/registered engineer in many regions (e.g., PRC license in the Philippines, PE in the US).
- Master’s in Project Management or Engineering Management is a plus for senior roles.
Certifications (Advantageous)
- Project Management Professional (PMP®) – PMI
- Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM®) – PMI
- Construction Safety Certifications (BOSH, COSH, OSHA training)
- Primavera P6 / MS Project Certification for scheduling and planning
- Lean Construction / Six Sigma knowledge is an advantage
Technical Knowledge & Skills
- Strong foundation in engineering principles, construction methods, and materials.
- Proficiency in project scheduling and planning tools (Primavera P6, MS Project).
- Knowledge in budgeting, cost control, and resource allocation.
- Familiarity with contracts, procurement, and documentation.
- Competence in AutoCAD, Revit, and BIM tools is a plus.
- Understanding of quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) and safety standards.
Professional Requirements
- Work experience:
- Entry-level: Internship or 1–2 years as site/field engineer.
- Mid-level: 3–5 years in project execution and coordination.
- Senior-level: 5–10+ years with leadership in project delivery.
- Ability to coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, and stakeholders.
- Experience in preparing project reports, progress updates, and documentation.
- Skilled in resolving technical issues and site conflicts.
- Involvement in monitoring progress, ensuring quality, and enforcing safety compliance.
